Product description

This is a beautiful MDF treasure chest with a living hinge (flexible) lid. Ideal for storing jewellery, small treasures and other items. The lid clips closed and also comes with a couple of different shaped 'keys' - although the keys do also hold the lid closed, they are largely decorative.

The treasure chest has on each side a design from one of our talented artists.

The chest is also ideal for decorating and pyrography. It can be painted, stained or varnished to your preference. The chest itself is supplied unfinished (i.e. unvarnished) to facilitate this. You can always just leave it as it is if you prefer the natural look.

Treasure chest dimensions:

Height: 103mm
Width: 105mm
Depth: 78mm

We have two sizes of treasure chest available; this is the smaller size chest.

The treasure chest is made out of 3mm MDF and comes flat packed - so it does require some assembly, although no tools are required. This is easy enough to do and instructions are available online. The chest is fairly robust - although it should be stressed that this is not a toy.

As these chests are laser cut for a precision finish, they can arrive with a freshly cut 'smoky' aroma to them. Unfortunately, this charming scent does fade over time.

In Focus

A ferry has operated across the mouth of the Cromarty Firth between Cromarty and Nigg for centuries. Cromarty lay on the main coastal route north from Inverness, and formed a key staging post in the pilgrimage undertaken by many to the Chapel of St Duthac at 14k Yellow Gold Men's Money Clip The Cromarty to Nigg Ferry is now the only vehicle ferry in operation on the eastern side of Scotland. Its presence and continuing operation adds a great deal of character to Easter Ross. ( More ...)

Featured Book

The House With 46 Chimneys by Ken Lussey (10 November 2020). Life changes dramatically for Kaleb, Jude and Sequoia when they move to live with their aunt in a rural corner of central Scotland. It’s the beginning of April 2020, the early days of the coronavirus lockdown. Three local children they meet – in a socially distanced way – draw them into a two-century old family mystery involving the haunting of the nearby ruins of Dunmore Park. Do they try to right a wrong that was done in 1828, a wrong that has had consequences ever since? Or is doing so simply too dangerous?
